The dealer is the person who deals the cards to the players. The cards are dealt face up or face down, depending on the type of poker. Typically, the dealer is the last player to shuffle. The dealer button is a white plastic disk. The dealer button is also known as the buck or nominal dealer.
Poker has a number of variants, most of which differ in the number of cards used for each hand, the way cards are dealt, and the number of betting rounds. Some of these variants include Omaha, community card poker, and stud. Each of these variants has its own set of rules, as well as its own betting intervals. The most common of these variants is seven-card stud.
